Job Purpose

We need a QA engineer to join us and help to elevate our tech offering to a new level. As QA engineer, your ability to work with the software engineering team and support our applications will be paramount to your success. We need you to influence quality at all stages of the project lifecycle, driving continuous improvement and getting involved with requirements, including design and testing.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the software development team to support our web and mobile applications development processes to meet business requirements
  • Influence quality at all stages of the project, driving continuous improvement and getting involved with requirements, design and testing
  • Demonstrate a logical and structured approach to task prioritisation with minimum guidance
  • Monitor systems, applications and vulnerabilities to ensure they are up to quality standards
  • Helps define and implement the overall test strategy
  • Proactively keep abreast of industry developments, skills and technologies and share information, ideas and best practice with development team members to improve software quality
  • Challenge and influence our developers and product owners to ensure new applications and services are delivering the right thing in the right way
  • Test planning, documentation and requirement writing
 

Education and Experience

  • 4+ years experience with manual testing
  • Some exposure to at least one unit testing framework ( e.g. XUnit, NUnit, JUnit)
  • Experience working with an agile development team (SCRUM, Kanban etc.)
  • Experience working with version control (e.g. Git, Mercurial)
  • Some programming knowledge (Java, Python or even JavaScript)
  • Experience with defect tracking, Bugzilla, Jira etc
  • Knowledge or desire to work with Automated testing (e.g.Selenium, Jenkins)
  • Strong written ability and excellent communication skills
  • Adaptable and able to take direction Has excellent time management and organisational skills
  • A professional approach to time, costs and deadlines.
