Job Purpose

Our learner's experience is at the forefront of everything we do. To help us build functional systems that improve our learners' experience we are now looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer. They will be responsible for deploying product updates, identifying production issues and implementing integrations that meet our learners' needs. If you have a solid background in software engineering, working experience with a major IaaS provider and are familiar with Kubernetes, we’d love to speak with you.

 

Strategic Objectives

  • Help define and implement our overall infrastructure strategy
  • Proactively keep abreast of industry developments, skills and technologies and share information, ideas and best practice with development team members to improve our delivery
  • Support our cloud migration initiative
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Help improve our infrastructure as we continue to modernise our platform
  • Deploy updates and fixes Demonstrate a logical and structured approach to task prioritisation with minimum guidance
  • Monitor systems, applications and vulnerabilities to ensure they are up to the highest standards
  • Provide Level 2 technical support Build tools to reduce occurrences of errors and improve customer experience
  • Develop software to integrate with internal back-end systems
  • Perform root cause analysis for production errors
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues
  • Develop scripts to automate visualization
  • Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance
 

Education and Experience

  • BSc in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent years of experiences
  • Previous orchestration and container experience
  • Experience working with an agile development team (SCRUM, Kanban etc.)
  • Some programming knowledge
  • Experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar software engineering role
  • Proficient with git and git workflows Working knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Working knowledge of databases and storages
  • Problem-solving attitude
  • Collaborative team spirit
  • Strong written ability and excellent communication skills
  • Has excellent time management and organisational skills
  • A professional approach to time, costs and deadlines
