As the month of June & Pride Month has come to a close, we wanted to take the opportunity to share the fantastic initiatives we have taken part in throughout the month & to thank everyone for their participation and continued support for what is an extremely important commemoration.

Circus Street is dedicated to the physical and psychological safety of all our people and truly recognizes the importance of this within the LGBTQIA+ community, not just during Pride Month but all year round so we are also keen to share ongoing initiatives that demonstrate Circus Streets continuous support. 

We kicked off the month with a workshop from Dee Jas @Coloufull on Being an Active Ally. It was a truly informative and eye opening session where we discussed the importance of being an Ally to the Community and how to ensure we are consistently supporting this both inside and outside of the work environment.

Along with themed Life Celebrations, we had a Virtual Pride Parade hosted by the wonderful Victoria Secrets - an hour FULL of amazing Pride Anthems, Bingo, Drag dress-up, impromptu dancing, head shaking and LOTS of belly laughing.

We also took part in the London Pride March with QA (our parent company), a wonderful way to come together to support the community and be part of the brilliant celebrations marking 50 years since the 1st Pride took place in the UK.

And finally, our fantastic team created a content series on ‘What Pride Means to Me’.

But we’re not stopping there, we have a number of events and initiatives in place to continue the conversation and show our support year round including:

  • Annual Diversity and Inclusion training to create a safe and friendly environment for all employees 
  • Developing our D&I Charter to form a clear action that emphasises fair treatment and open support of the LGBTQIA+ community
  • Inclusion of opt in/opt out of Pronouns & raising awareness across the business of the importance of these being used
  • D&I Annual Survey to understand our current demographic of employees
